
Mitra Layeghi, DNP, RN
Community Hospital of Huntington Park has a new Chief Nursing Officer effective July 31.
Hospital CEO Hector Hernandez announced the appointment of Mitra Layeghi, DNP, RN, in a July 9 memo to employees and physicians.
“Mitra brings a high level of professionalism to Community Hospital of Huntington Park, and to Pipeline Health as a whole,” Hernandez wrote. “She has more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience in diverse settings and is a board-certified nurse executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.”
Layeghi’s areas of significant skill include strategic planning, team leadership, and clinical operations, with a focus on quality improvement and cost management. Her career achievements demonstrate success in driving healthcare innovation and fostering diverse, multidisciplinary collaborations.
According to Hernandez she also is adept at enhancing patient outcomes through evidence-based care models and regulatory compliance.
Layeghi comes to Pipeline Health from Hometown Health Centers in Schenectady, New York, where she serves as Senior Director of Clinical Services. The Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Federal Tort Claims Act health center is nationally recognized for providing high-quality, cost-effective primary health care to low-income residents.
Previously, she served as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at the Southern California Hospital in Culver City, CA, a 420-bed acute care facility. There she managed 15 direct reports and 800 staff members, overseeing: Critical Care and Step-Down units, Telemetry; Medical Surgical, Behavioral Health, Subacute, and Acute Rehab units; the Emergency Department, Peri-operative Services, Cardiac Catheterization and the staffing office.
Layeghi holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from American Sentinel University and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing, both from the Iran University of Medical Science.
