Across our Pipeline Health System, that question resonates and is well answered. You are making a difference each day, one person, one patient at a time.

You are on the front lines of patient care, employing your expertise and sharing your compassion.

You are behind the scenes in an administrative role, answering the telephone, greeting patients upon arrival, creating a welcoming and reassuring experience.

I started my healthcare career as a physical therapist. I know what it takes to ensure each patient receives the care he or she needs—and deserves. Many of us were influenced by another healthcare professional. I was influenced by my mother, a role model and a dedicated healthcare provider herself who oversaw a large obstetrics program.

Once we discover what moves us, our career choices are clear and fulfilling. Being a healthcare provider is a privilege. We choose to work in healthcare because we know we can make a difference in the lives of others. We want to make a difference in the lives of others. And at Pipeline Health, in our hospitals and in various corporate roles, we do that every day.

With the Labor Day holiday weekend upon us, we will enjoy a well-deserved day off. However, many of us will work to ensure the well-being of our patients.

Wherever you find yourself in the days ahead, I invite you to reflect on why you chose a career in healthcare and how it fulfills you unlike any other role you could play in our society. Thank you for your labor on behalf of those whom we are privileged to serve.
